Since 2004 Larvol has been providing comprehensive competitive intelligence, analysis, and software solutions for the most prominent pharmaceutical companies in the world. Our software solution Omni is offering comprehensive updates on KOL activity. KOLs are thought leaders that are influential in the physician community. Omni includes publications, clinical trial involvement, social media, news items, and upcoming event attendance. Omni customers use Omni to engage and identify new professional opportunities. By keeping all KOL information in one place, they can stay ahead of their competitors with comprehensive updates on KOL activity.
The purpose of this policy is to explain how Larvol (‘’we’’, ‘’us’’) collects and shares KOL business intelligence with our customers (‘’Omni users’’) and to inform KOLs how we process their personal information and how to exercise their privacy rights.

KOL personal information is publicly available information and business contact information about KOLs in their professional capacity. More often than not, this is made available by the KOLs personally for the purpose of sharing their research and opinions.
Each KOL is manually added to Omni based on the customer’s request or the number of clinical trials and influence they may have in their relevant medical field.
By mapping publicly available information of a professional nature, we have developed a database of qualified professionals/experts in relevant fields for the purpose of connecting them with our customers for joining advisory boards, speaking engagements, and otherwise engaging with their various business activities.
We are complying with the applicable privacy laws by collecting consent from EEA based KOLs and relying on legitimate business interest for the rest. Omni customers are contractually obligated to use KOL personal information for internal purposes only and banned from selling/sharing this data with third parties. Please see our Terms of Service for more detail.
If we ever wish to further process your personal information for a purpose other than the ones mentioned here, we will contact you first to ask for permission.
What legal basis do we have for processing your personal information?
Organizations across all the sectors process certain personal data to gather market intelligence, promote products and services, communicate with and tailor offers to individual customers. In addition to B2C, many organizations also use legitimate interests in the context of marketing and communications with B2B customers and contacts.
Our clients rely on Omni tool to follow consolidated updates from KOLs, and KOLS are publicly sharing updates with the world. They rely on a legitimate interest to process business intelligence for their internal purposes, and we rely on both legitimate interest and informed consent to gather KOL updates that contain business contact information about KOLs in their professional capacity.
Through Omni tool, our customers can access and follow KOL activity. We do not share KOL personal information with anyone else.
KOL data securely stored on AWS servers, which are hosted in the state of Oregon, US. For more information about AWS privacy and security, please visit their Privacy Policy.
We keep KOL personal information for as long as they are professionally engaged and post online updates.
If you are a KOL and you wish to be removed from our tool, please contact us at DPO@larvol.com
You have the right to request:
If you gave us consent, you can withdraw it at any time, but bear in mind that withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Our goal is to help you connect with business peers and not to harm you in any way. If you are still not satisfied even after contacting us with privacy requests, you can always lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. For a list of available supervisory authorities, please visit the EU Data Protection Board website.
